Publication Ethics and Responsibilities

Arba: Jurnal Studi Keislaman is committed to maintaining academic integrity, ethical publication standards, and professional responsibilities among editors, reviewers, authors, and publishers.

Editor's Responsibilities

  1. The editor of Arba: Jurnal Studi Keislaman is fully responsible for determining which articles are suitable for publication based on their academic quality, scientific relevance, and peer review results, in accordance with the journal's editorial board policies.
  2. In the process of evaluating and making editorial decisions, the editor and editorial team uphold the principle of non-discrimination, without discriminating against authors based on social status, race, gender, religion, ethnicity, citizenship, sexual orientation, or ideological or political views.
  3. Editors must maintain the confidentiality of all information related to submitted manuscripts and must not disclose it to anyone other than the author, reviewers, relevant editorial board members, or the publisher.
  4. Unpublished manuscripts must not be used by editors for their own research without the express written consent of the author. Information obtained during the review process must also not be used for personal advantage.
  5. Editors must be objective, independent, and free from conflicts of interest or commercial considerations in all editorial decisions.

Reviewer Responsibilities

  1. Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions through careful academic assessment of the quality, originality, and scientific contribution of manuscripts.
  2. Every manuscript received for review must be treated as confidential and must not be shared or discussed with others without the editor's permission.
  3. Reviewers are fully responsible for their recommendations and assessments, and ensure that the review is professionally and responsibly prepared.
  4. The review process is conducted objectively, fairly, and constructively, with clear and relevant academic arguments.
  5. Reviewers are required to pay attention to aspects of publication ethics, including the accuracy of citations, the completeness of references, and the potential for plagiarism in the articles reviewed.
  6. Reviewers are expected to commit to contributing to improving the quality of articles and the peer review process.
  7. Reviewers have the right to determine their time availability for reviewing according to their capacity.
  8. All information obtained during the review process must be kept confidential and must not be used for personal gain.

Author's Responsibility

  1. Authors are required to present their thoughts or research results in a clear, systematic, structured, honest, and academically accountable manner, free from plagiarism and data manipulation.
  2. Authors are fully responsible for the content of the article and any academic and legal consequences that may arise from its publication.
  3. Submitted articles must be original, unpublished, and not currently under consideration for publication in another journal or publication.
  4. Authors are required to adequately reference any opinions, data, or scientific work of others used in their articles.
  5. Manuscripts must adhere to applicable ethical principles and standards for scientific writing.
  6. Submitting or publishing the same article to more than one journal or publication is unethical and unacceptable in scientific publications.
  7. If an author discovers a significant error in a published article, they are obligated to immediately notify the editor or publisher and cooperate in the correction or retraction process.

Publisher's Responsibilities

  1. Arba: Jurnal Studi Keislaman, published by the Albahriah Jamiah Indonesia Foundation, is responsible for publishing scientific articles that have undergone editing, peer review, and layout in accordance with scientific journal standards.
  2. The publisher guarantees the academic freedom of editors and reviewers in carrying out their duties within their respective fields of expertise.
  3. The publisher is responsible for maintaining privacy, protecting intellectual property rights, copyright, and ensuring the journal's editorial independence and freedom.
