Authorship and Contribution

Arba: Jurnal Studi Keislaman is committed to maintaining transparency, academic integrity, and ethical scholarly publishing standards based on internationally recognized publication ethics principles.

Arba: Jurnal Studi Keislaman is committed to upholding the principles of transparency, academic integrity, and best practices in scientific publishing. All editorial processes and authorship policies of this journal adhere to international ethical standards established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).

As an open-access journal licensed under the Creative Commons CC-BY-NC-SA 4.0 license, Arba: Jurnal Studi Keislaman guarantees that authors retain copyright over their work and grants broad permission for distribution, reuse, and development of the work, while maintaining proper attribution and applicable licensing terms. All policies are formulated in accordance with COPE Core Practices to ensure accountability and fairness in authorship attribution.

Authorship Criteria

Authorship in Arba: Jurnal Studi Keislaman is only awarded to individuals who have made substantial scientific contributions to the published work. To be listed as an author, each individual must meet all of the following criteria cumulatively:

  • Substantial Contribution: Make significant contributions to the intellectual aspects of research, including conception or design of research, data collection, analysis, and interpretation of data, as well as preparation or revision of manuscripts of important academic value.
  • Final Version Approval: Fully approve the final version of the manuscript to be published and express willingness to be responsible for the entire content of the article.
  • Scientific Accountability: Able to explain, defend, and account for research findings scientifically if necessary in academic or public forums.

Individuals who do not meet all of these criteria cannot be listed as authors.

Author Contribution Statement

To enhance transparency and prevent role ambiguity, Arba: Jurnal Studi Keislaman may require an author contribution statement upon manuscript submission. This statement should explicitly explain the role and contribution of each author to the research and writing of the article. Contribution statements are published with the article and should be honest, accurate, and reflect the actual involvement of each author.

Authorship Changes

Requests to add, remove, or change the order of authors after a manuscript has been submitted will only be considered in exceptional circumstances. Such requests must be accompanied by a written statement agreed to by all authors, containing a clear and detailed justification for the proposed changes. The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject or accept such requests after a thorough evaluation and, where necessary, referring to COPE guidelines.

Honorary Authorship and Ghost Authorship

Arba: Jurnal Studi Keislaman strictly prohibits the practice of gift authorship and ghost authorship. Individuals who provide only technical, administrative, funding, or other minor contributions cannot be listed as authors and should be credited proportionally in the acknowledgements section. This journal is committed to detecting, preventing, and prosecuting unethical authorship practices in accordance with the ethical standards of scientific publications.

Authorship Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute regarding authorship, contribution claims, or contribution claims, the Arba: Jurnal Studi Keislaman Editorial Board will handle the matter through a structured and objective evaluation procedure. The disputing parties will be asked to provide evidence of their respective contributions. In certain cases, the journal may refer to COPE guidelines or seek the opinion of relevant publishing ethics organizations to ensure a fair and impartial resolution. Arba: Jurnal Studi Keislaman is not responsible for personal conflicts between authors outside the context of publication ethics.

Conflict of Interest Declaration

All authors are required to honestly disclose any potential conflicts of interest, whether financial or non-financial, that might affect the objectivity, interpretation, or credibility of the research. Conflicts of interest include, but are not limited to, institutional affiliations, professional or personal relationships, and economic interests relevant to the substance of the article. Transparency in disclosing conflicts of interest is an essential prerequisite in the editorial process of Arba: Jurnal Studi Keislaman.

Compliance with Ethical Guidelines

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all submitted research and publications comply with the ethical guidelines of Arba: Jurnal Studi Keislaman and applicable research ethics standards. This includes obtaining permission to use copyrighted materials, obtaining informed consent for research involving human subjects, and the ethical treatment of animals in research.

Policy Review and Updates

Arba: Jurnal Studi Keislaman's authorship and contribution policies will be reviewed and updated periodically to reflect developments in scholarly publishing practices and the recommendations of relevant ethics bodies. Any policy changes will be publicly announced and published on the journal's official website.
