Theme Description
Arba: Jurnal Studi Keislaman invites academics, researchers, and scholars to submit scholarly articles for its July 2026 issue under the theme "Islamic History in the Post-Oriental Era." This theme highlights the epistemological shift in the study of Islamic history, moving beyond the dominance of the classical Orientalist paradigm toward a more reflective, critical, decolonial, and interdisciplinary approach. Post-Oriental Islamic history studies seek not only to critique the legacy of colonial bias in Western historiography but also to develop new analytical frameworks that place Muslim actors, local sources, and the internal dynamics of the Muslim community at the center of historical narratives. This edition aims to present scholarly contributions that offer a rereading of Islamic history with contemporary methodologies, relevant to global challenges, and contributing to international academic discourse.

Submitted articles are expected to be original, based on strong research, and to offer theoretical, methodological, or empirical novelty. Topics that can be studied include, but are not limited to:
1. Post-Oriental Islamic Historiography
2. New Methodologies in the Study of Islamic History
3. Global Islam and Transnational History
4. Decolonizing Islamic Historical Narratives
5. Islamic History and Contemporary Issues
6. Reinterpreting Islamic Historical Figures, Texts, and Events
