Generative AI Policies

Kamali: Jurnal Ilmu Agama has established a Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) Policy as part of the journal's commitment to maintaining academic integrity, ensuring the originality of scientific work, and ensuring high publication quality. The use of AI tools, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or similar platforms, is permitted in a limited and proportionate manner, particularly for language editing, style refinement, grammar checking, and introductory summaries, as long as such use does not replace the author's substantive intellectual contribution. Conversely, the use of generative AI to generate primary scientific content, develop legal or scientific analyses, construct academic arguments, generate citations or references, falsify data or findings, manipulate research results, or produce text that cannot be scientifically justified by the author is strictly prohibited. Violation of this provision may result in rejection of the manuscript or withdrawal of the published article. Authors who utilize AI for technical or linguistic assistance are required to transparently disclose the form and scope of such use in the Acknowledgments or Author Notes section through an adequate statement. Failure to provide this disclosure will be considered a violation of publication ethics.
All responsibility for the originality of the manuscript, the accuracy and authenticity of the data and references, the validity of the scientific analysis, and adherence to ethical standards rests solely with the authors. AI tools cannot be listed as authors, contributors, or parties having intellectual responsibility for the manuscript. During the manuscript evaluation process, reviewers and editors are prohibited from uploading the manuscript or any part of it to public AI platforms to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of the review process. The use of AI by reviewers and editors is permitted only for the limited purposes of language analysis or clarity checking, without entering the manuscript content into public AI systems. To ensure compliance with this policy, Kamali may use AI detection tools as part of the manuscript evaluation process. Any violation of the Generative Artificial Intelligence policy may result in rejection of the manuscript, withdrawal of the article, and the imposition of sanctions in the form of a temporary or permanent ban on submission.
