Theme: "Hadith and the Climate Crisis: Normative, Historical, and Contextual Perspectives"

Introduction to the Theme
The climate crisis is one of the most serious global challenges of the 21st century, directly impacting the sustainability of human life, ecosystems, and social order. The phenomena of global warming, environmental degradation, exploitation of natural resources, and ecological inequality demand a multidisciplinary response, including from Islamic scholarship.

In Islam, the Prophet's hadith contain principles of environmental ethics such as the prohibition of causing harm (ifsād), the concept of humanity's mandate as vicegerent on earth, ecological justice, modesty (zuhd), and collective responsibility towards nature. However, hadith studies that specifically and systematically address the contemporary climate crisis are still relatively limited and require more contextual methodological development. Therefore, Hamidah: Jurnal Ilmu Hadis invites academics, researchers, lecturers, and observers of hadith studies to contribute to the thematic edition "Hadith and the Climate Crisis," to enrich the discourse on hadith scholarship that is responsive to global humanitarian and environmental issues.

Scope and Topics of Study (but not limited to):
1. Hadith on the environment and nature conservation
2. The concept of caliphate, trust, and ecological responsibility in the hadith
3. The prohibition of ifsād fī al-ardḍ from the perspective of the hadith
4. Ethics of consumption, exploitation of natural resources, and sustainability according to the hadith
5. Hadith on water, land, plants, and animals in the context of the climate crisis
6. Approaches to the discourse and reinterpretation of environmental hadith in the context of climate change
7. Living hadith and the ecological practices of Muslim communities
8. Hadith and climate justice
9. Integration of hadith studies and Islamic ecotheology
10. Methodological critiques and challenges of hadith studies in the contemporary climate crisis
